Writing a strong business plan. I'm not so sure that I should now take Calculus and Statistics in university. While stats is useful, and like mentioned above, most programs require it dont feel like you have to take it right away in first year. I needed it as a prereq for one of my econ courses here at UofC, but I saved stats right until my fall semester of fourth year and then the required econ course until the following winter semester.

As for your schedule Im not sure if your taking 5 courses a semester and if any courses you listed are full year courses, but throw in some random options that may interest you if you have space. You might be surprised and go completely opposite of your intended list of majors. I took a couple religious studies and Greek and Roman stuides classes that I fell in love with, probably would have done a minor in them if I had taken them earlier in my degree.

The list above is equivalent to a full course load 5. Those are courses that I'm interested in - not necessarily ones I think will benefit me in my future major or whatever. I have both a genuine interest in all subjects perhaps with the exception of the maths, but those are required for both a psychology module and my breadth requirements that I have chosen.

I'm trying to finalize my schedule for first year, and I need to make a few decisions. I need to choose one of the following schedules:. The right answer is that you should select the bunch that most interests you. No one of these groupings will prepare you for law school better or worse than any other. The bunch that interests me most is the one with comparative literature. However, it's probably not the best idea to select courses based on what anonymous people on message boards suggest!

I can't comment on what courses to take in undergrad generally, but I wanted to put in my two cents about taking courses to try and prepare for law school - don't bother. No particular major or courses will prepare you for the type of learning you have to do in law school. As far as I know, it's totally different from any other type of academic study and accordingly requires unique skills that you will pick up once you get to law school. I had no plans on going to law school until my fourth year of my music degree.

I did quite well on the LSAT and in 1L, having taken no undergraduate courses that have anything even remotely to do with law, logic or reasoning.

The best advice is to take courses that you will enjoy and that you can do well in. The most important thing on that application will be your GPA. As for the LSAT - if you do enough practice tests you will be able to see patterns in the questions that are asked and finding the right answers can become easy enough.

I loved statistics. I think understanding the theory not just the math behind sampling is an incredibly useful concept that you can apply to any area. Pragmatically, reasoning along these lines I find very useful for the Logical Reasoning section of the LSAT, since they seem to sometimes like sneak in statistical reasoning the is it more likely Linda, who majored in gender studies, is a banker or a femminist banker variety. Psychology is very interested. Philosophy and math IMO are the most generally applicable in terms of rigour in thinking, but that depends very heavily on having good professors.
